Campus Ministers/
Co-Directors
Hunter and Haley Bethea are the campus ministers and co-directors of Awakening Collegiate Fellowship at the University of West Florida.
Rev. Hunter Bethea grew up in Fort Walton Beach, FL where he discerned a call to pastoral ministry. He is passionate about challenging people to go from simply believing in Jesus to following Jesus in every area of their lives. He loves being outdoors, writing, and spending time with people—especially at coffee shops.
Hunter graduated from the University of Alabama with a BA in Communication Studies and a BS in Business Management and Asbury Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity and Certificate in Leadership Development. An ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church, he served as Discipleship Pastor at a church in Alabama before launching Awakening at UWF.
Haley Bethea grew up in an Air Force family, so she has called many places “home,” but nothing felt more like home than Niceville, FL. She loves coffee, all things fall, and podcasts. And she’s ready to meet over breakfast food any time, any day.
Haley graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS in Elementary Education and Asbury Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Christian Education. She is finishing her coursework to be ordained as a deacon in the Global Methodist Church. While pursuing her education, she spent 7 years serving as a paid intern and associate director at various Wesley Foundation campus ministries in Alabama and Kentucky.
